Sr. Sales Engineer / Architect Position

Sales Engineer/Architect

 

The SE Architect is a subject matter expert in the area of Enterprise Systems Management leveraging Cisco UCS, NetApp, and VMware’s infrastructure. As a member of the Pre sales Design team, the SE Architect supports the Promedia sales campaigns by providing solution area business/technical support to the sales team by actively engaging in customer accounts; evangelizes Promedia business Value and technical benefits to senior level business and technology decision makers. The SE Architect is a high impact, very visible role, and instrumental in driving the adoption of Promedia products and solutions in accounts.

 

What you need for this position:

  • Strong skills in Cisco Data Center (Nexus, UCS, WAAS, MDS, etc.)
  • Strong skills and experience designing Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, etc)
  • Strong skills and experience designing Storage (NetApp,) solutions.
  • Relevant certs are a plus (CCDE, CCIE, VCP, VTSP, VCAP, VCDX, NCIE, etc.)
  • Excellent presentation, communication & customer interaction skills required

 

Overview:

  • Act as a UCS, NetApp, VMware & Data Center Solutions Subject Matter Expert
- 95% Technical / Solutions Design & Engineering
  • Work with Sales and customers to develop enterprise solutions.
  • Present technical white board demonstrations to clients.
  • Create solution/design to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Use configuration tools to provide accurate bill of materials.
  • Perform technical presentations to customer base.
  • Create design Visio’s of customer solutions.
  • Provide supporting documentation to enterprise solutions
  • Technical Proposal and SOW within the RFP/RFI Response
  • Assist with ramp-up process for other storage and virtualization architects
  • Utilize Partner Relationships
  • Architect and Validate UCS, NetApp and VMware Solutions

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with technology decision makers (CIO, CTO, Solution Architects, VPs and Directors of IT) within accounts; building relationships, evangelizing Promedia solutions, and providing expertise to assist in closing business
  • Participate in pre-sales efforts including: technical sales presentations, architecture design discussions, competitive displacement, proof-of-concept engagements, RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations, and technical workshops
  • Analyzes customer’s business and technology objectives by asking probing questions that are relevant to the customer in order to collect information that enables the sales team to be more effective and responsive to customer’s needs
    • Ensure success of customer proof-of-concepts (POCs)
    • Create a document portfolio of compelling sample reference architectures that demonstrate the value of VMware, Cisco, and NetApp solutions in real-world scenarios
    • Document client feature requests and issues, providing feedback to sales and product management
    • Present Promedia’s technical & business value proposition at industry events
    • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of VMware, Cisco, NetApp and domain expertise within technology subject area
    • Assume the role of an advisory leader organizing a team of subject matter experts, collaborating on issues and solutions as well as collecting information on industry trends, customer requirements and competitive analysis
    • Assist in the development of the SE organization by providing subject area training (knowledge transfer) to fellow systems engineers; create the necessary training materials when appropriate
    • Participate on a consistent basis in the SE discussion forum

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5-10 years of technical sales experience and 6+ years of industry experience
  • A strong technical background in Virtual Infrastructure with expert knowledge of VMware, Cisco, NetApp core products and solutions is desired
  • Industry certification(s) within subject area required
  • Must be immensely capable, an excellent communicator with a can do attitude and the ability to adapt to change
  • Strong presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high quality product demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences. Must exhibit ability to speak in front of large audiences
  • Strong customer facing and relationship building skills
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to create technical documentation
  • Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting
  • Experience working in Enterprise Systems Management and IT infrastructure environments architecting solutions, designing process and implementing technology
  • Experience in project management, conducting competitive analysis, technology research, benchmarking, and writing technical documentation is desired

As a Senior Account Executive, you will work within a designated territory to identify, quote and close sales opportunities. This Senior-level position will be responsible for managing and supporting multiple clients of various sizes and technologies. Ideal individuals will have high level Information Technology sales experience. Candidates must be able to develop new business, maintain existing relationships and create high net sales across the board.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to existing clients, prospects to qualify and convert new business
  • Provide pricing, quotes and take orders over the phone and through email
  • Utilize phone, email and web tools to effectively communicate our offerings
  • Responsible for studying and passing manufacturers certification such as Cisco Sales Expert, VMware, etc
  • Answer/respond to customers inbound product question
  • Maintain customer relationship management (CRM) system with accurate data
  • Understanding Promedia Technology Services Inc. wide ranging product offerings as an Information Technology Solution Provider

Required Experience
